Privacy Policy

BloomPetz is a place to keep your pet’s life organised — health records, milestones, photos and journal entries. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who can see it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.

Information you give us

We collect what you enter into the app so we can show it back to you and keep it in sync across your devices.
Account details — your email address, and a password you set. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.
Your profile — display name, phone number if you add one, profile photo, time zone, and anything you write in your “About me”.
Your pets — name, birth date, the date they came home, breed, colour, notes, and whether the pet is linked to a breeder.
Health and care records — vet visits, vaccinations, weights, health notes, milestones and training sessions you log.
Journal entries and photos — including any files you attach.
Titles and achievements — a title, result or certificate you record for a pet, with the organization, date, score or placement, certificate number and notes if you add them.
Pet registration — a registry, registered name and registration number you choose to add for a pet.
Messages — conversations with a breeder you have connected to.
Support requests — what you write to us, plus your email address so we can reply.

Information collected automatically

BloomPetz contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs and no third-party trackers. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Our hosting provider processes standard technical information needed to serve the app — for example IP address and request timestamps in server logs, and a session token stored on your device to keep you signed in.

How we use your information

We use your information only to run BloomPetz.
To show you your pets, records, photos and journal.
To keep you signed in and sync your data across devices.
To connect you with a breeder when you accept an invite, and to pass messages between you.
To send account emails you ask for, such as sign-up verification and password resets.
To answer your support requests.
To keep the service secure and to diagnose faults.

What your breeder can see

This is the part most worth reading. If you accept an invite from a breeder, BloomPetz links your account to them so they can share your pet’s records with you. That link is two-way for some information.
A linked breeder can see: the pet records they shared with you, journal entries and photos you choose to share back, milestones you mark complete, which puppies you mark as favourites or top picks, your profile name and contact details, messages you send them, and whether and when you opened a document or contract they sent you.
Titles and achievements you record are private to you unless you choose to share one with your breeder. Another family member who has their own account for the same pet cannot see them. BloomPetz keeps a copy of the pet’s name and breed with each record, so the record still makes sense to you if the pet is later removed from your list.
A pet registration you add is private to you in the same way: your breeder and other family members cannot see it.
If you share a record with your breeder, they see the pet’s name and breed and the record’s kind, title, organization, date and result, marked as shared by you. Your notes are never shared, and the certificate number only if you include it. A separate choice, off unless you turn it on, lets your breeder display the title publicly, never with your name or certificate. You can stop sharing at any time, and it disappears from your breeder’s records.
A breeder cannot see pets you added yourself that are not linked to them, and they cannot see journal entries you have not shared. If you are unsure what a breeder can see, contact us and we will explain exactly what is shared for your account.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with the providers we need to run the service, and only so they can perform that work for us.
Supabase — hosts our database, authentication and file storage.
Resend — delivers support and account emails.
Your breeder — only where you have accepted an invite, and only as described above.
Legal — if we are required by law to disclose information, or to protect the safety of a person or animal.

Photos and files

Photos and documents you upload are stored with our hosting provider and served to the app over the internet. Treat anything you upload as you would a file you have shared a link to: do not upload documents containing information you would not want a holder of that link to see.
Deleting a pet, a journal entry or a document removes the stored file as well as the record. Deleting your account removes all of your uploaded files along with your records.
Backups held by our hosting provider may retain a copy for a limited period before they expire. If you need a specific file confirmed as erased, email us.

How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account we will remove your personal information and your pets’ records, except where we are required to keep something by law.
Deleting your account also deletes every title and achievement record and every pet registration you added.
Deleting your account also deletes the messages you sent to a breeder. Anything your breeder separately recorded in their own BreedBloom account — their copy of a pet’s records, for example — belongs to them and stays with them.

Your rights

You can delete your account yourself at any time: go to your profile, open Account & security, and choose “Delete my account”. Before you confirm, we show you exactly what will be removed. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
You can also ask us for a copy of your information or to correct it — email support@bloompetz.com from the address on your account. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
You can edit most of your information directly in the app from your profile and your pets’ pages at any time.

Children

BloomPetz is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Families often use BloomPetz together — please keep your account under an adult’s control. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that restrict each account to its own records. No service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change significantly affects you, tell you in the app or by email.
